If you want to embed an MP3 audio file into a Blogger post, you can insert your HTML code for the music player. If you have an MP3 file on your computer, you can upload the song to obtain a direct URL to the file, and then you can use the direct URL to customize the generic music player code into a specific code to play your song

Obtaining a Direct Song URL

If you own the copyright to the music file, you can use any number of free audio-hosting sites to upload your song onto the Web. MP3-upload.net, Picosong.com and Mailboxdrive.com are among the available options. Click to upload your file, and then copy the URL you are given.

Customizing the Generic Code

A generic code for the Google Reader Player is:

In the place of "MP3_DIRECT_URL," insert the actual direct URL to your song.

Inserting the Code

Visit your blog in a Web browser and click on "New Post" in the upper-right corner. Click on the "Edit HTML" tab and insert the Google Reader Player code you customized. Click "Preview" to see if the music player appears as it should in Blogger. Finish adding content to your post and click "Publish."

Testing the Music Player

Click to "View Post." Click on the "Play" icon and make sure the volume on your computer is on and that the volume scroll bar on the music player is positioned to the right. Listen through to the end of the song. The Google Reader Player should automatically adjust to the song length of your audio file. For example, the display for a 3 1/2-minute song will show at first "00:00/03:30" with the "00:00" entry increasing as the player makes its way through the audio file.
